Upgraded is a romantic comedy that is available on Amazon Prime. The movie stars Camila Mendes as Ana, Archie Renaux as William, and Marisa Tomei, who has portrayed Aunt May in Spider-Man films, features as Claire Dupont.

The plot focuses on the story of Ana, an unemployed single lady who is an artist looking to open an art gallery. The plot begins with Ana working as an intern for Claire DuPont, who manages Erwin’s Auctioning Gallery based in New York City. However, she later rewrites her resume and applies for a third assistant to Mr Claire DePont who is also travelling to the UK with his two junior assistants. The resentment was so immense that these females opted to buy Ana a separate economy flight ticket. This has even turned to the ticket agent who, watching her colleagues treat Ana so badly, decided to transfer her to a first-class seat for which there was access to the first-class salon. This is where William was, and she immediately hurled her drink at him.

The plane flies and, to her utter surprise, she discovers that her seat is located next to William. You Remember, he is the one to whom she slipped a drink while standing.

When they meet, there is an undeniable chemistry, and from that point onward, the story moves in only one direction. This is possibly why Ana felt uncomfortable discussing her employment with William when asked about being an Assistant. So she told this handsome British chap that she was a Deputy Director at the New York office of Erwin’s and was pretending to be her boss Claire in the process.

I do not watch trailers or reviews, and hence, do not follow the film’s synopsis or any details (which, I guess, is normal for me while hunting for a movie). It was a romantic comedy, and I was certain that much, which is always one of my animations funny enough to say romance.

First of all, I think Camila Mendes should be offered more characters in romantic comedies because she was great in providing this character. Indeed, she is an actress and this role proved her worth.

In addition, I would like to indicate that Marisa Tomei did a great job portraying Claire DuPont, but I feel that the writers have tried too hard to make her resemble Meryl Sreep’s Miranda Priestley from The Devil Wears Prada. A point of view that I must underscore does not seem to me an aberration at least with respect to most of the writers because they seem to always be in search of such types of a tough woman manager and definitely not the kind from The Devil Wears Prada.

Although this might not be a “review” in the classical meaning of the word in the sense of a comparison this was quite revealing and gave me a few insights.

To sum up, let me try to make a long shot for Mayan, but I will put it this way it is rather amusing to me. I do not mean to sound too harsh on this point because Catherine, William’s mother played by Dominique Clarke in this movie, was fun to watch and even more importantly was given a criminally interesting role. And possibly some members of the cast I don’t know, are charming, which they certainly were to me. Even when William’s Mother was an evil genius which she was, was very easy to get along with.

Some romantic comedy films that involve deception tend to get on my nerves, but not for lack of faith in the theme, but at times, those films become spoils for me, however, at times, it depends on the vision I have built because even if I choose the Ana case as an example – she as a matter of fact dissects everything so darn well and direct so it leaves me absolutely perplexed as to how she is so competent.

In this part, I give an explanation: For instance how she finds it cute to see both two turning points of the movie starting to date. This is great, but, for her, the last chapter of the movie is what she takes issue with, even though a lot of times in rom-coms she can be a deal breaker. According to her, this is because it is rather obvious that was the quickest of the resolutions. In addition, it was mildly difficult to watch Ana get fired and hired by the same firm on the same day. Perhaps it would be a better movie has the flaws in the ending had been more balanced in terms of rating.
