The tale unfolds in England during the 1920s, where a gay writer and his nurse become romantically attached through the course of routine medical examinations. At one point one of them comes to her and explains how he had an elder companion, around whom they would circumvent, and after that how they would unleash their primal emotions which were manifest in violent physical outbursts.
