What happens when a Miami spring break trip with friends turns into unused plans and absolute annihilation? It begins to unravel the moment one of the four friends’ Leah goes missing and is subsequently found dead where the spotlight seems to boomerang back to her other three companions almost instantly. What Happens in Miami (2024) Movie Plot Synopsis:
The story revolves around Maika, a daughter of a South African beauty and success-zion lawyer where she learns a very deep lesson about love and relationships when her girlfriend Autumn disappears one day.
Next, we are shown four friends who are on a vacation in Miami, just before their college session starts.
The friends go to the beach during their vacation and Autumn spots a group of boys who are trying to get in touch with Taylor, one of the four friends. Autumn immediately rushes to get the boys away from Taylor and enrages Taylor. Yes, she is furious.
Later, Autumn is overheard telling Shay (Autumn’s devoted fan) that Maika is looking at Taylor (who is speaking to Maika). Taylor has not yet told anyone except for Autumn that she is a lesbian. It turns out to be quite a challenge because Autumn is very active on social media and boasts about a million followers. As an influencer, both Taylor and Shay like being by her side, but Maika’s perspective is very different. She has always known Autumn long before Autumn started her influencer career. Shay wants to be an influencer so she mimics Autumns looks and behavior but Maika enjoys being around her more.
What Is It That The Girls Explain About Cameron?
While the girls are enjoying themselves at the beachside, a drug dealer called Cameron spots Autumn and wishes to speak with her. At night, almost all the girls head towards Cameron, and Autumn speaks first since they’re all friends and wish to get some of his stuff. Soon, Cameron and Autumn become good friends and start slapping each other in public. Maika, Shay, and Taylor sit on the sidelines observing the romance between the two. The girls along with Cameron, for the first time party with Dan and get to watch all the cameras in Cameron’s possession.
Reason – Police arrest Maika
It has been two weeks since they last saw Maika and Autumn, the police come with an explanation. Shay, Taylor, and Maika are questioned by the police because the case took a different turn and the body shoes of Autumn were also missing. While Maika suggests the police check the CCTV footage, all the girls here blame Cameron, who insists he was never serious about her, saying he “had a good time”. However, later that night, Maika tells the detective that she went to Cameron’s house to back up the story she saw in the news.
Maika was arrested on a thin veil of circumstantial evidence after claiming to have been with Zion and Julian at the time of the incident. A vape containing Maika’s fingerprints was discovered, supporting her arrest, and an unknown individual proceeded to frame Maika alongside the three girls. After watching the video footage, a detective mentioned that there seemed to be nothing out of the ordinary. To this day, there hasn’t been any new evidence found alongside the footage that would shed light on the suspected person behind the vape flask.
