Garfield basically fails to achieve a design for an arthouse film which definitely needed to have been there and has been striving to be achieved. In this category, which fuses cartoon Economics and Minimalism, art including the likes of ‘Garfield’ is made and readily championed. It is highly likely that parents who bring their kids to watch this movie expecting the nonsense version of ‘Garfield’ will be deeply disappointed just as the other people who came to watch the movie were. Although not that bad. This is where I probably go a bit idealistic and say the children will love it. Such a conclusion seems quite safe to me that at least the kids would be entertained one way or the other. The rest of the movie-going audience that accompanies the children may have a hard time watching a more or less directionless movie that would not have much scale advertising appeal. Parents most likely will face a few issues as well, and those can be found in this article.

It was Jim Davis who first gave life to the world of “Garfield” through his comic strip roughly half a century ago, and it still stands true, even after decades, that the main characters and the plot have not changed. In the past five decades or so, this has not changed. The cat named Garfield is the one who calls all the shots. Then, there is Jon, a human who lives with him, and to suggest that he is in charge of the household is silly. There is also a dog, Odie, who often gets the worst of the outbursts and the jokes. When it comes to hobbies, Garfield has one, actually, which is a shame for him, considering he is a cat: he hates all Mondays. Who could have guessed that the proud head of the household, who adores lasagna with all his heart, is such a fervent hater of Monday?

However, Chris Pratt’s animation Garfield is not the self-centered cartoon of Lasagna He is, watching the four-frame comic, is the best way to meet him. While watching the film, children are baffled by Garfield’s father abandoning him in the dumpster, and this is slowly shown in a flashback, which raises the question of why Pratt was chosen for the role. Later on, Jon orders a pizza from an Italian restaurant, spots Jon dining there, walks over to his table, grabs it, chews it, and since Jon was so taken by that kitten they end up living together. As Garfield gazes at the portraits of Lorenzo and Music, he cannot help but ponder over the early days of his life while interacting with Jon. Jon used to voice over the character’s brand of jokes during the cartoon commercials and series, as well as the video games.

Garfield’s life today has been made significantly more uncomplicated owing to the cutting-edge advancements in technology, food drones are summoned by Jon’s mobile phone alongside a plethora of cat videos on Netflix. In the current installment, Odie is portrayed as a loyal aide rather than a troublemaker. On the flip side of the coin, things started going south when Vic Garfield’s father to who Samuel L Jackson has lent his voice over, decided to show up despite a long absence. Not all kinds of executions are effective. Vic wishes to develop an effortful father-and-son relationship, alongside Odie and Garfield, however, unwillingly all 3 efforts only evaporate. In other terms, clenching teeth the trio pose for a picture with their tight-lipped kidnapper Jinx (Hannah Waddingham). They have to help a fat bull named Otto search and rescue a cow named Ethel which is the only other action in the movie.

Young viewers of this movie will have a hard time finally being able to understand how Garfield reconciles with his estranged father sadly the violent father-son relationship hangs just as the result throughout the film. Otto loses his wife because of the farm being bought by multi dollars but this facet of the film isn’t interesting to children also as it is simply too cliche. There is worry stirred with cattle prods and electric fencing, its high profile people who are first blindsided and then continuously electrified. There were abuses towards Daniel Day-Lewis and a long-running ‘gag’ about meat on the roadside. The only two male characters who they consider the tougher female characters are the other important female characters. One of the actresses even says with a straight face “If you have young children, this would be a good time to leave the room.” I strongly advise you to switch to a kinder movie.
