Quadrant (2024)

Shifting the focus to the 1980s, it was during that particular time that I saw a plethora of movies, and those images of Charles Band made me think outside the box then and to this day I find myself more and more creative. It was a few years later that I started doing fantasy deposits in the rental stores, where I had to work hard to mask imaginary images that were not realistic nor were they actually visible.

Growing up in Toronto as a child, I went on countless trips to my local Jumbo Video long before Blockbuster started expanding, and among my favorite finds there were VHS cassettes of Re-Animator, Subspecies, and many other B movies. The blends together with strong visuals motivated me so much that I even started creating the most outrageous covers. And when I first visited rental shops those films were still quite surprising RoboWars and Arena were the titles I rented regardless of their production location.

However, I would like to add the quote that I believe expresses the sentiments of everyone involved which is remarkably similar to what Charles Band expressed in his interview done by Jay Creepy link to interview here From An Empire to the Moon A Severed Cinema Interview with Charles Band. Therefore, let us begin with a review of the latest movie Charles Band Quadrant, made in 2024.

A female character of modern times goes on a trip in the blurry virtual representation of London. A cabin of a boat is being controlled by a huge woman with a battered girl who seems to be sleeping on a blood-soaked mattress, depressed and with a dented head inside it. Bluntly, the girl bursts into laughter as she is passed the knife by a killer who is giving her the knife.

Erin on the other hand starts to awaken due to a headset controlled by a scientist Meg and Harry. They are inquiring about the time spent by Erin in Quadrant and seem to have multiple questions surrounding it. Were there negative emotions directed towards something or someone? No. Rather. Astoundingly, she is the first one to have it. Erin states that being inside the Quadrant was quite exciting.

Erin called an image of Jack the Ripper over and in for them it reflect a person. Smarting of some of the bits and confidence of the looks, not there was Meg. But she could not get frightened of being in the midst of am. This was different, unlike the Quadrant. Even when Jack the Ripper was right beside her. Harry however has to remind her that in the case of the Quadrant, it is only your thoughts that are projected.

63, he recalls in the first place one sees comprises about 75 of the ash sanguarii claims to qualify as house servants. ‘Erin, you are going to remove your fear today by facing them,’ Meg and Harry say to the subject. ‘You will burn them.’ But Erin does not want to meet them; instead, she desires to immerse herself in but she does not want to meet them, she desires to sink deep into them. She wants to relish the moment, not escape from it.

Meg and Harry are on the other side of the spectrum as they debate the use of the Quadrant for helping people, especially on the psychological side rather than just let them enjoy it. It must be said that this is a rather fascinating debate to have these days in the world of movies. Is the cinema a discipline or does the film itself serve as a tool for someone to make an art without any codes of ethics whatsoever? Should the audience of cinema content themselves with the use of it in their thoughts, or must it be used to give some of their dreams and even their view of things to the audience?

Erin is now also acquainted with Robert. She has a thing for Anthony and It’s Vise Varlden Spela Casino online for her he is another young male with whom she goes to Quadrant. However, Robert does not only want the Quadrant to eliminate the fears that he has, but wants Erin to accompany him to a nice place her house which is situated next to a graveyard. On the walls of her room are photos of Jack the Ripper and pictures of his 1880s Victorian Las Vegas Casino.

Robert is quite overwhelmed by the talk as he imagines being overpowered and worse being unable to swallow the pills which are supposed to ease his receptiveness to the quadrant quadrants. Quadrants. And then, he briefly catches sight of Erin’s face which aft. He wakes up to blood all over his face covered almost all in a virtual reality experiment, The nightmares turned into countless bloody faces.

Erin touches his arm urging him to relive the moment that plunged him into darkness forever: scooping out the eyes of his godmother. Erin tells him that she will journey to that realm with him and help him rid himself of the omens that torment him. But In the quadrants Erin also gets Jack to give her a knife. She kisses the prostitute woman before stabbing her in the stomach with a knife. She graphically and grotesquely stabs the young whore to death fingers the bristles of her blade in vigorous motion between the breasts of her victim. She is always looking through a VR headset, and she is extremely happy.

One of which has a huge dollop of one of Jack’s victims in a portrait and is crudely located directly behind the hooker’s head and that of the whore. The mercenary has a switchblade in her possession and insists that it is the surprise she has in store for any idiot who attempts to get close to her. Unlike Erin, who turns Her ripper fantasy up a notch by actually satisfying her blood lust sjónarmyndar, väl orð á a hooker being stabbed. There is blood everywhere, literally. Wow! What a scene to capture in a film.

But Meg is caught drinking in the Quadrant lab. While Meg also seems to have some crossover problems with her fantasy–reality–cross experiences. She knows it could be risky in the Quadrant. On the contrary, Erin tries to reason with her coward of a husband Robert that what’s the point of having Harry and Meg for assistance when he is very much reluctant to deal with the ugly aspects of him. He ordered him to show some valor and to wrap him in a carpet before their intercourse. Well, that works quite often!

Supporting each other is democratically agreed upon by Robert and Erin. In a terrifying place known as the Quadrant, Erin enjoys slashing and bashing the monsters who chase after Robert. Hand and glove. And while doing this, their aim is to ‘pretend’ Meg and Harry are still there but as usual, they are not helping them.

While in the lab, Harry checks in with Robert to see if he has taken his medication in preparation for the Quadrant, and Robert rather rudely comments, “Not today”. Robert puts on the VR headset, it is a woman’s turn to take the place of the inch nines as well as women zombies cheering from behind in the woods. This time, however, Robert has a lot of guts! Infrared goggles take care of those nasty hordes of flesh into bloody chunks, in a vegetative state. Mind-blowing visuals!

Robert makes a comeback from the Quadrant all sweaty and toiling as though he just pulled off an impressive ejaculation, success achieved! Harry immediately attributes the success of his Quadrant Therapy to him. Not so fast there buddy. Robert is brokering in on the deal that is being postmarked around of going all the way with that testimonial interview regarding the psychological healing properties of the Quadrant. During those clashes, Robert remembers being irritated that Erin was more helpful to him in the fight than he expected seeing himself in the mirror as an illusion of horrifying dreams.

What healing mechanism would seem more effective? The feeling of having hero-like courage in movies due to being a psychopath or the feeling of sheer terror to the extent it helps me go several days without sleep. Alternatively, does it instead drive one to be an effective changemaker in life or make one fake a sense of accomplishment? Or does it always come down to what sort of therapy is being used?

It was Robert who started all this, but now, he is out. It’s Erin’s time in the Q again. She is back to being a crazed Jack the Ripper while stalking her Robert in those foggy London streets. Fictitiously, she sets out with Robert in search of a hooker but this time, her aim is to stab one from the back. Fearless as she is, Erin does not see herself stopping simply because Meg tells her to. Meg had plans for her, explaining how playing the system as a game could always backfire, and how it was best to do things the right way. If Robert were to be left alone, maybe then Meg would sit back without expectations.

It seems like Erin has gotten under Meg’s skin and she is capturing Robert’s attention. Meg has to restrain herself because Erin has the potential to go berserk: She feels like the other quadrant saw Erin being ‘worked on’. We also have Harry warning us. So sure enough Meg and Robert are excited about a fight in the canals of Venice.

Outside of the lab we have Robert getting ready for an extended due to the prolonged effects of Quadrant and the last thing he remembers is Erin deciding to insult someone who he imagines is a predator. Then a girl acting as the so-called prostitute who Robert is supposed to silence gives out a scream. This begs the question, in the real world will any of these events take place or are they also only in the mind of Robert?

Okay, I understand I might still have a chance with Robert, he has doubts about that though. It seems like Harry is suggesting that this has worked once before ( Meg springs to mind!). Then stay at least a couple of inches away from Erin, gets indirectly. The concentration was again because he swore he would get to see her that evening. Damn it!

Rob and Erin fight over a corpse that they both killed, Which Erin regards as a stinkin’ lookout while Rob says it was more of an instinctive drive. It was not such an instinctive drive for Rob. As for Erin turning to Robert and asking “Will you rather disperse again and aid me in disposing the dead body?”

Round one was a walk in the park we passed the block of the providers’ scouting in the quadrant. But now Meg seems to be suffering a mental lapse and only advances to the border of one of the blockades. So, Erin gets screened out from the shooting sequence. Liz is suspected to be on her Lexington spy missions again. Amazing, but the voices are bothersome and in all fairness, there are always voices in Liz’s head beginning season 2. As if the case is entire, I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who was warning ” You guys, there are voices, there are Brian flies around me in the whole division’’ How else do you explain the muddle in Steven’s skull?

The conclusion is: Today it is not a question of trying to accommodate English speakers. If I had to speak in such extremely simple terms to foreigners, one word at a time, I wouldn’t do it as one has to learn patience only one word at a time and the whole process of learning becomes very boring especially looking into foreigners eyes and waiting for them to comprehend. The only additional thing remaining now is to watch the entire Erin’s video from our end, and Erin is capable of doing much more and over a shorter time. Getting into that state of flow is sometimes frustrating.

So the time has passed that was already posted the announcement of this post since I began writing this as I had this post in mind that I should first complete the post. Let me say though that I found her portrayal of Erin’s character as absolutely fabulous Shannon Barnes. The transitions from one set of very strong emotions, especially those psychopathic female ones, to other great ones were a little spontaneous and effective. To this extent, the presentation of the character is quite out of this world and totally plausible. Give credit to Shannon Barnes.

Gezaer The drama is not only that Karen is also getting to know this for the first time, but also that Elizabeth Shannon and Trina are at war: “The two girls are definitely in contention for the title of the best girl as they are treated in other seasons and how to continue on and return her drug on her approach Karan and ask to take them now”. Sounds clear enough.

Robert touched me the one played by Christian Carrigan. But he bland sweet kind of 80s innocence that is sort of an odd. I liked him, he is such an awkward mute teenager who gets mired in a stormy romance with a dominating girl, Theres Aisha. She is attracted to his weaknesses so much. He has internal strength, therefore, it was believable, for the outrageous premise.

The attempt to agora ‘supernaturalize virtual reality’ does seem to appear to be a genre on its own with special emphasis on and volumetric metaphor. In that line is yet another movie Videoverse (Cassex, 2021). In contrast, yet another Full Moon Feature with another movie that is highly recommended. And of course Aimee The Visitor (2023). That would make an entertaining triple feature. The implementation of the idea was something I appreciated.”

In my view, a CG graphic horror action game and animated film franchise, a dystopian future of an unspecified location in the late 2030s in which monsters, demons graphics, gruesome graphics, and virtual reality escapism were also enjoyable. The transition to virtual reality, namely the aforementioned animation or CG graphic films, was very well executed and the sequences made it even more shocking through the performers who played both the victims and the assailants.

Even the blood-drenched extreme sequences made a lot of sense because of the visually and performatively engaging CG graphics and monsters. Very much enjoyed the emotionally charged concept of graphic animation interconnected with the exceptional assassination and torture of the unsuspecting victims. The feature’s unique animation and graphics intermingled with various gruesome sequences, and the exceptional sounds truly evoke a sense of terror.

Never expect Charles Band movies to surpass film budgets with exceptional songs featured. However, in my opinion, the music in this film was lackluster and less ambitious than I was expecting However, I still believe Band Films could’ve put more effort into the song. Looking at the quality this Band Film’s song was made on, they could’ve made the production more elevated.

Perhaps if Meg’s hypothetical history was more intense, then the faceoff at the end would have been able to be pushed to the next level. Yes, exactly the same as it is stated, more intensity would have been acceptable and would rather benefit the picture. This is slightly of a downer.

For the reasons noted above, I find it completely pointless to complain about the struggle with Erin’s soundtrack and the sound of the music. Unsurprisingly, you respectfully and patiently listen to the motives and the conclusions. They are certainly, predictable, but indeed interesting and satisfying. Now, on behalf of Severed Cinema, do yourselves a favor and do not miss Quadrant. The Old Leather Apron is already in wait, in the Quadrant, it will help you out of your fears. Enjoy!
