Gracie and Pedro: Pets to the Rescue (2024)

The cartoon movie “Gracie & Pedro: Pets to the Rescue”, has scenes that are amusing but overall, does not exactly appeal to the audience due to its poor animation. However, the movie is one of the more low-budget animations this year which makes it one of my personal least favorites and one that I would prefer to never watch again.

Alas, how I wish I could indulge it in the manner described above. What I saw as “Gracie & Pedro” was simply a work intended for children just over five years of age with little to attract elder siblings or even parents. It is hard to comprehend how real adults will ever be able to view this. Even as a strategy of entertaining the small children for one mail, this portrayal done by the directors Kevin Donovan and Gottfried Roodt is hardly amusing. The creative ability of the mind is simply lacking, goal is nowhere in sight. This is quite specific for younger ages who would not have any emotional problems easily getting depressed from the awful design of the character molds coupled with their grotesque rubber stretched mouths along a rounded rubber head with pursed lips and chattering teeth waiting for vocal sounds which never come out of the mouth of the character. (And no, as for this movie is in a foreign tongue and recording expects to be spoken in some other language is not a sub titled in English and other.) Such case to the animals as well to human beings.

I would instead prefer to throw myself life against the hard white surface of a wall. Let us say that this movie is being watched by you alongside your children, well they are the ones who decide on what to watch in the first place, uhuh am quite sure you figured it out in the end, the children.

One may wonder What’s so bad about the movie when it has a voice cast such as, Susan Sarandon, Danny Trejo, Brooke Shields and Bill Nighy? After all that I have witnessed, I can only say that it does not take a rocket scientist to figure out, these experienced professionals are not around much, and even when they are, they talk too little because their voices are altered so much to an extent that it bears no semblance to how they actually sounded.

Far worse is the accusation that the very reason which drives the protagonists of this odyssey to go cross country is entirely and completely fictitious and absolutely absurd. A movie on talking animals does not require the audience to suspend their sense of logic more than this, yet this is just plain ridiculous.

Gracie is an overly pampered American spaniel (aalelaise) who is not often showgroomed to the American standard and if she is you can tell she is already on a quest, even if that is to just to wear a rather oversized hair bow which is strangely but not quite, placed in her curly hair. And further down the line, there is Pedro (Cory Doran) who is an aggressive and rather self assured cat from the new york avenue.

They are engaged in warfare, and this is war! It is a tooth grinding contest between cats and dogs which is the very essence of a play on words comedy. Sadly, when the family they are staying with relocates from Los Angeles to Salt Lake Flying cross country makes them do things like throw both the animals into a teacup and shove them in the overhead compartment of an aircraft.

What kind of wicked parents would devise a plan like that, which entailed every pet being placed inside a different carrier? But then again, it would have been quite funny to witness the pets fighting, however, that would have been simply barbaric to even think of.

To commence, Gracie and Pedro’s extravagant ballet, which can be deemed the most zealous feeding ballet absolutely disrupts the entire complex cargo belt system. They fly on an airplane, rather than walk. No, they travel by bus and train To Utah, accompanied by a bunch of strangers, regularly meeting. A character site Sarandon plays bandy rabbits dressed up to perform a magic act on their way to Las Vegas. From the prediction she even wears the glasses it is named so that tells you the subtlety level of the script which sadly was written by three Of them. Then there are those who are portrayed as trying To eat them for instance, Nighy who plays a condor, the character looks fierce and most likely terrifying for little kids, the intended audience for this film.

Now, after traveling so far, Sophie (Bianca Alongi) manages to get her daughter back , and her younger brother Gavin, tries looking for their beloved pets but both of them get irritated when they find out that there are no traces left of their pets. Sophie appears in a music video that was to help find them but the opposite happens and it is a hit. She has that awful strangling type of voice which we are told she may have it but she is all over us quite a lot because she is the boss and all other grown ups who surround her are quite useless.

As if the condor wasn’t awful enough, the other terrifying place is a dilapidated theme park where kids must be put on an absurdly built roller coaster which equals to sweet. If you are in search of a cartoon movie that everyone in the household would be able to watch and in which animals do funny and silly things and receive quite shocking and heavy hits gromit is also on the list of among several other movie trailers.
