Girl in the Video

Previously, one could confidently argue that one Lifetime movie was barely distinguishable from the others. But now, it is evident that between the last time we checked in on Lifetime and now, the network seems to have undergone a complete and total overhaul. In the latest project, “Girl in the Video” Tia May Watts and Andrew Lee Potts are such captivating actors that you are fully glued to their every move. It’s definitely a little darker than many true-life crime films. The detail given to major indicators of development has been overshadowed by their sheer number and thus it fails to be told with the required depth. But, as always, team negligence maintains its course Spoiler Alert!

The movie starts with Mom, who is a mother of two, getting ready for a meeting with a guy that her slightly pouting friend, Jennifer, set up. Things do not go well on this occasion either and Mo is left to return home to her daughter Krissy.

Mr and Mrs Lin have a son, Robbie, and a daughter, Krissy who have equal respect and love for their mother since they understand the nature of life and have no father figure in the house. Their father was a soldier who was KIA. Moving on, the eldest son of the house, Robbie takes on the role of the protector and tries his best to make Krissy happy.

Toby Toby. Krissy remembers everything vividly, how she pleaded with her mom to go to a party but Mo refused saying that it was a long enough stay. After a while, Krissy goes on to flaunt a photo that is taken with a boy called Toby. She claims that she wants to convince her mom that she needs to have some sort of a ‘meet’ with Toby. Krissy seems to pay little attention to Cheli’s food while Mo stays still where she sits implying that she will not allow her daughter to party. After some hours, when Mo is asleep watching some TV, Krissy quietly gets out of bed and tells Toby that she is indeed on her way to the party in text messages. When Krissy does arrive at the place, she is shocked to find a masked man instead of Toby. This man grabs Krissy, caresses her lips with his fingers, pours clothes on her grabs the pillows gags her mouth, and then places her in the car and ties her hands back.

The next morning, she goes to Mo’s room and Mo notices Krissy is missing There from Mo’s side ways of phoning her are made as well as from other common friends. But even a trace is on where Krissy could have disappeared. Even Jennifer and Robbie strive as much as possible to find out where Krissy is but also they have been unsuccessful. After twelve hours of silence, Mo decides to call the police. Lt Audrey comes to the house and Mo explains some facts saying for instance Krissy wanted to attend this party. To her, it is reasonable that they try to locate Krissy by her cell phone triangulation. It is a method whereby the location of the nearest cell tower used by Krissy is confirmed.

But later, that same evening, a rather indecorous clip makes its way to the net and in it, a masked man is seen torturing Krissy. Knowing the terrible nature of the incident, Lt. Audrey calls the FBI. The feds respond by dispatching Agent Ray to investigate the case. Mo gets the feedback about the girl from the clip and it is confirmed that it’s Krissy who is being tracked via an IP address. Luna concedes that there was a boy Toby who Krissy said was around at the party. But during their investigations, the policemen go to a house in an area where Toby was last said to be and find that he died two years earlier.

Since then, Ray found out that Toby’s account in one of the social networks was being sold on the dark web for 8 dollars and it was bought. In order to eliminate all suspicion over Toby, this guy also creates a new group of ‘friends’ around Krissy. The kidnapper also texted Krissy from one other account posing as a friend of Toby and told her to attend the party. Krissy had no way of knowing that he had properly planned this in the first place. Due to the man’s lack of an internet persona, there was an added difficulty for the police to trace him.

Feeling miserable, Krissy is forced to wear chains on her body and is only provided with a mattress and some food. Most of the time, she is tortured in a way that will never leave her remembering it. Kidnapper uses her in their videos, which are streamable on several social media sites. The saddest part of all this is that videos created by these kidsnappers are sold at a cost to the audience. Krissy in this entire duration of time spent with her, never loses her focus on the kidnapper but rather gets engrossed with him as days go by. Gradually, Krissy’s abductor starts developing feelings for her because she constantly keeps mentioning how great his family is. But justifiedly, that is all secrets hiding behind a mask, then she reveals to him that she believes that it’s been absurd for him to ask that she call him by his name, Jack Sweeney.

In a more alarming manner, Jack malignantly reveals that his ex-wife has taken their child Molly away from him. Enormously cherishing Molly, it is her loss that causes him to feel hopeless after having been deprived of her by Sweeney’s ex-wife. However he makes out even better by emphasizing that from time to time Molly comes by to share her love for him, which did occasionally happen. Jack goes to the extent of sharing the photo of his daughter Molly with Krissy, which she finds unreasonable to understand.

In order to get him to be at peace he believes Krissy when she says that had his daughter not cared for him, she would have never bothered to come to see him.

During this period, Krissy is able to get her way around a screwdriver and has made up her mind to always keep it on her. There comes a day, where she has meant to use that screwdriver on him and swing it at him, but rather, has failed to inflict any harm on him at all. But, the moment Krissy’s focus shifts towards revenge against Jack for hitting her, she places much blame on him for going live, that she is found calling out his name, ‘Jack S’. Just as she is about to complete that name, Jack places his hand on her mouth. Here is where there is some information for the detectives, but then that is not of much help since Jack is then associated with a pet name that starts with ‘S.’

With that being said, and with no side to be taken out of this situation, Mo finds herself crossing the line losing her temper, and at one point hitting Agent Ray. That is where she is found to be wrong for her actions and now she seems ready to go on the right path to apologize him. Just where Agent Ray got curious on the unresolved indecent, of course looking for Lt. Audrey and arranging for another press conference so that every time Jack Michael Marken screws up. Well, I see it doesn’t sound like it would help out during the whole process.

In an attempt to have a good time playing a game, Robbie puts on his console. However, as soon as he switches it on, he discovers one nifty feature that catches his attention.

He realizes that while he was not at his console, Krissy is having a good time playing the game while talking to Molly in the chat. Robbie begins with reporting it to the authorities and Agent Ray chimes in, recalling how he’s had to deal with very sensitive matters out in the open like knowing about Krissy’s family. He adds that a lot of times when someone inquires of a victim, they ask staged by a feeling of being a victim. The most satisfying aspect is that almost all consoles include registration, which reveals the location of ms Molly. Molly’s whereabouts are sought after by the police so that she might be saved. Rather what they find is Molly Sweeney and her mother casually existing together.

Molly claims that she had accidentally left her gaming console in her father’s house during the Thanksgiving feasts. Audrey Lt. Makes a visit there and discovers that Krissy is taking a nap on a bed located somewhere in the basement. The workplace of Jack is his point of arrest and Krissy is taken to the hospital for medical attention. To him, such an arrest has always been out of bonds. Krissy is seen crying in her brother’s hands while being carried by her mother. This is the tape of real-life events, which gives the impression that the film is near the viewers.
