Unjustified death, illness, and a shabby existence can befall even the most honest individuals, and I don’t think it is necessary for me to remind you of this. Forgive me for having to waste time stating the obvious.  The world is filled with much more wrongdoing than righting. So it is much easier to say there exists an evil than to ever have to say there exists any good in this world. Times of trouble, despair, and heartaches come and go but we tend to forget about the good things about them.

For Prophet, a newly released film was made available to the public on July 26 and features the epic engagement of an angel with a demon who takes a keen interest in a man called Damon. In such a worldly situation, it asserts that both good and evil forces co-exist which means that a change of viewing from negative to positive is all that is needed.

For Prophet film poses a troubling challenge I dare say a cognitive blockage with regard to our belief: assuming you presume there are demons it is natural to carry the assumption there are angels why not? This made me question how come the rest of the good and bad is so easily acceptable in the practice Good is Jer not affirmative.

Damon considers himself an atheist but it is quite clear that God still scares him; He feels that Demons have a desire to kill me but at the moment why not go to God? He is cursed, as in this case, an evil spirit was able to come and plague him as well intensifying his already existing grief, worry, pain, and loss.

On the other hand, Act 2 made significant progress with the development of the plot through the actions of the supporting characters. Therefore, it’s Damon’s brother’s prayers that set up the situation and we see an angel named Raphael appear. She comes to Damon in the shape of a woman and tells him that God selected him to save the city by being a prophet.

While according to him God was hard to believe in, the demon who did not allow him to sleep was believable indeed. The demon, who wandered around with a camera and voiced the constant ideas that swirled in Damon’s mind, was quite real to him. Damon suffered from self-destructive thoughts that were bothersome as well as being one of the reasons for his anxiety of being in the company of people, more so his wife. His head was full of fear, and he followed the orders of the demon that lived within him, thus no amount of Damon’s faith was likely to do much.

For Prophet is a family comedy-drama as classified by IMDB. The movie was nauseating to the extent that throughout, deep emotions engulfed me. I sympathized with Damon there and believed that the demon in his life spoke too much and almost always had his voice on which caused Damon a lot of distress. So this made it quite difficult to follow the happenings in the scenes within the movie. It was a cacophony of dozens of voices, with the demon’s voice being the loudest.

Although the poorly written and poorly delivered movie’s dialogue does offer some irritation and requires effort to comprehend, it still manages to evoke compassion for Damon’s situation.  These are all factors we can relate to the internal speech of everyone’s own head together with the external sounds that are being dealt with. In my perspective of the film, I look at what Damon had to endure in order to reach that level. It was tense for a certain period but I remained focused on everything that was happening in the movie.

In here there is a difficult situation how is Damon supposed to act in this case? An angel and the demon constantly bombard him throughout the film, telling him what to do in the story. The issues of free will and conquering have been raised more than once. There is a lot for Damon to learn still, not to mention the fact that the demon makes it difficult to fight back and liberate oneself from the grip he has placed.

Damo’s journey of self-discovery seems to be strewn with conflicts, especially in terms of his needs goals, and meaning. For him, it is not so easy, and the themes of forgiveness, anger, and empowerment for joy are absent in Damon’s psyche. In the course of days, he is tormented by his own thoughts and fails to determine what is in the hands of fate lies next. Reality and answers are not to be given, only Damon will have to search and discover them.

Generally, For Prophet is an impressive, humorous film. The struggles that the actor had to deal with were rather appealing to me. More personal, if I may add. The sense of urgency was in every shot. Considering it is For Prophet, the comedic aspects of it, I sincerely sobbed more than laughed.

Admittedly, I’m not a religious scholar, but the Christian themes seem to be out of place in this film. There is free will and obedience and even the Holy Spirit in there. But about Jesus, I don’t recall.  Yes, the sphinx Raphy gets more attention as do the explanations regarding him. The role of Archangel Raphael is like the Old Testament character every Protestant idolizes: brief appearances in a single book, the deuterocanonical Book of Tobit which is vaporized and sacred to Roman Catholics.

These intricate religious elements cannot all be covered in a feature film but flash by you from time to time. In general, For Prophet is a movie that I can recommend since it successfully depicts the general problems that every man is bound to face. These themes that are portrayed in this movie are definitely real since they depict the reality of every person in his life. After watching the For Prophet movie, I started pondering over the fact that why do not angels exist in our world, or why we do not try to seek Good in this world around us.

There is no argument that the other world exists already. And, if we were able to turn things around and observe, feel, and do what we could, then life would surely be different. This is NOT a religious or a prophetic statement. Those who profess such beliefs really ought to read their Bible. It is packed with wisdom which is appropriate for all times.
