Clear Cut (2024)

The movies of Brian Skiba easily complement the film Clear Cut, one question that a person might have is why is that the case? Some may deduce from the title that the director is trying to be cute or a bit too progressive, simply because his narrative chooses to slip between the two poles of the story briskly. It is a fact that this is, what, the second recollection, and this poorly put together book, Skiba is also actively participating in the making of. The explanation for that is simple, John Dahl cut this scene exceedingly poorly and it is risky when the scene jumps to a flashback with Aelec Baldwin playing a character who died at the beginning of the movie to ask the question about the editors.

Deceased characters can show up in the form of memories and nostalgia but picturing it here is absurd, you can change the scenes to the startup and this already worse depiction might make sense. Alec Baldwin on the other hand does not represent his presence consistence after that too, the depiction is futile like this. At least there is not of such need to have such restraint about where it was formulated in such a dumb way, which I suppose is the center of (might be) the tale. You can barely see it as the grasp makes the story less simple than it ought to be. In addition, the fact which I already have in the beginning too many questions about what the writer intended to do in this case actually, for this one, already speaks volumes. That’s an understatement.

The story follows Clive Standen as he immerses himself in the role of Jack, a logger who travels to meet his mentor Alec Baldwin for a job. Now, if you are reading this text and are filled with hope thinking that there is some constructive, sincere, and positive message associated with further living and exploitation of the forests, I would like to warn those readers this is one of those god awful low budget television films that somehow finds its way into a couple of US cinemas under the guise of Lionsgate productions. Furthermore, this film has an armed subplot, which precedes Jack’s attack in honor of one of his friends who was brutalized by meth dealers again here there are some logistical details which this film does not even try to touch.

Lochlyn Munro is a redneck crazy who has a crossbow. It’s safe to say everyone loathes his character on the show. He attempts to murder anyone who threatens his business. Of all the movie’s actors, he draws everyone’s displeasure. At this meeting, pleasing Gary a charming local leader comes bedecked with a truck full of cash. Clearly, in present day Utah, he gets Gary’s meth business running in a single day. Along with selling the meth, he orders Gary to open up a snack bar a venture Gary was never keen on. Stephen Dorff is a park ranger and he is also the mediator between both extremes. His role is even narrower politically. Anyone exposed to the women starring in the film will be greatly bothered. You will appreciate the effortless if you know anything about the women in this picture. The other Park Rangers include Stephen and Gary who further sell the meth, and within one day push Gary’s business over the top.

Clive Standen does portray brute force well as he combines emotion with the remnants of loss. However, the movie goes on to insult Standen with its unneeded melodrama and its protagonist forced events that the writing credit of Joe Perruccio takes. This time, however, I find little to say with regards to the directing save for a short two or so sequences towards the end in which Clive Standen appears to have trouble controlling either the sorrow or anger of his character. To be fair when you pull out ten minutes of Clear Cut from someone and show it to them they are likely to think the film was exceptional. In any case, this is not what one would consider good or prudent to watch.
