Around seven years ago, in 2017 to be precise, an animated feature movie on Woody Woodpecker was released. However, the movie did not perform as well as was anticipated. And by no means was it a good movie since it only earned 15 million globally whilst having a production budget of 10 million. These numbers aren’t great, especially considering how legendary the character is. Some ideas are better left inside one’s head, such as the idea for the picture.

It’s possible that the same studio allowed him to create the character and then partnered with him to make a film in 2024. Or perhaps not even that. Nevertheless, more characters from the animated series are coming into the picture which is a good thing since the show has a lot of room to work with. The plot begins with Woody being thrown out of his home and looking for somewhere new to live. However, he is delighted to learn about Camp Woo Hoo, which provides him with the level of protection he has always needed. However, the camp has an odd issue an inspector is attempting to shut it down.

You know, you are going to watch this movie with no expectations at all because after having watched the first one, let’s just say it was a doozy. But let me tell you, this part is not just a direct sequel, it’s a different set of characters and a different set of problems and even the whole thing revolves around a different yet the most cliche story ever. For instance consider Cheaper By The Dozen 2, or any game that revolves around two teams of campers competing against each other. The summary of the game would be based on the plot: Woody Woodpecker.

Now if there’s any part which can support this film, then there’s no denying the fact that it is about original characters and even the easter eggs about the characters that were included in this film. I started to watch Woody Woodpecker when I was two years old, during my childhood I was a big fan of this show so I do know all the characters and their motivations. I always have to watch a woody woodpecker movie even though I know it’s not going to be very good but the sheer idea that this character exists is enough for me.

The CGI is entertaining but at the same time, it could use some improvement. One of the negative aspects of the CGI is all the animated characters interfacing with the actual characters. There was this feature wherein children would turn to the wall while conversing with Woody Wood Pecker and that was amusing, albeit, not in an appropriate way. But it is Kevin Michael Richardson who c40. He is the best character. He was so good to the character that we have known for a long time. Every part I was against Woody, I liked I adore this guy so much.

As much as the critique of a particular actor’s accent to a fictional character should be withheld, the script is downright horrible. It is one thing to whine over some cliche and whacky animated voices that were at best ridiculous, and quite ridiculous. At times it seems they find the tiny feeling to it as its aim which again turns the panda’s eye from the screen for being embarrassed. But again it is a kid’s film so let’s not complain too staunchly about this. The acting was pathetic. It’s and will sit amisn’s that will sure provide some comical elements to the baby audience but that’s about it.

Woody Woodpecker Goes To Camp would be pleasing to children, and I guess that is what matters. The dialogue is horrible, and the storyline is so cliche that it has much willingness to be achieved. But at least we have the original characters back, and I am glad for that fact.
