The Forge 2024

It is worth noting that the sons of pastor Edwin Kendrick along with the likes of most religious filmmakers who train with state-of-the-art manual equipment form the most sophisticated and multi-relevant religious movie producers in the world today. If these specialists had a blood-soaked start in the business while stumbling from one blunder to the next in the pursuit of commercial success, the combined efforts of ‘Against All Odds’ and ‘Courageous’ were the turning point that set cinema as the language of Christian Films to popular makers and their followers. Thereafter the genre was also conquered by other upstarts like Angel Studios and Kingdom Story Group. The Kendrick brothers ‘The Remaining, was still able to remain relevant during the time which was transforming but it would have been ideal to be relevant then. Fair it would be to say that this newest origination emerges with an absolutely fresh story. One other aspect of this film is that it is also too close to another such story only that those other characters are from different movies.

While I do agree that in practice The Forge conveys a positive message, this is something commendable, but the amount of vulgarity and artificiality in its portrayal makes it hard to watch. I believe that it is least accurate with respect to what is being attempted.

The message itself is pleasing but yet again the movie appears to be the design of a typical bachelor’s classroom where the instructor tries to funnel the life of Jesus into the class in the most cliche manner ever.

These films The Forge belong to a rather different genre altogether. This makes the story overly one-dimensional and the dialogues overly stiff, which makes it almost impossible for the film drama and features that a regular cinephile would associate with Hollywood movies. Well, on the other hand, the Forge has no boundaries it is trying to touch. It can’t really be tagged as a “film” or a “the movie” for someone who has grim taste because it is simply a distorted advertisement leaflet, but of prodigious dimensions. The movie even lacks the basics a movie with such a strong visual message should have, a script, even a narrative arc, points of view, or even the directors’ editing decisions.

It is fairly reasonable to suggest that the subject of the film in question is best described as wholly unlike any other currently screening at the Cinemas this week which is more reminiscent of a bible study.

As a result, and as much as it may sound unreasonable, the most appropriate strategy to break down this film is by looking at it through the lens of two different kinds of films: one which is the content and the other the visual side. Just as any other art piece, a film has to deal with the matter of entertainment and quality, and so do faith-based films ( or one can hope that they will): so goes this one too. However, with the high expectations that were set when the movie was made such as the forge and the religion, faith-based films would be a major let down to the core target audience of this genre which are the believers, and it true to the belief of the viewers that the content is satisfactory, and to the further what would expect from this kind of proportioned movie. For all whom the filmmakers and the producers seem to address, mute the voice and try to ignore the subsequent two paragraphs that follow. As for the remaining categories of people, who are addressing the rational thinking side of the audiences, this aggravation is to warn them that this is aimed to be a nasty provocative work.

However, this is not exactly what I want so rather I would want to ease the blow on such kind of people.

The beating pulse of the movie, which is its philosophy along with the missionary work, as its sole, sounds good to those people who are United Christians. Not to put too fine a point on it, but much to the dismay of the devout, The Forge is an uninspired piece of work, pure and simple. I can only presume that this is a product made by well-educated but well-meaning robber preachers rather than true filmmakers. The Forge does not produce a movie they only produce a medium to promote their philosophy.

Kendrick brothers had become a scapegoat of Christianity Hatred for a lot of people. It was their opinion that the use of Hollywood influenced mostly negative perceptions towards Christians as most movies were viewed as a tool to promote Christianity. To this, people referenced Twain “Grape juice anybody?” So, what do you mean when you say, ‘The gospel without any camouflage’? Kindly make it a short question wherever needed. While reading this book it is absolutely evident that the goal is to Or, And they are not acting but speaking in the film where they the creators are the only ones speaking.

Such obnoxiousness in the form of a harrowing cry after reaching a height, would’ve been acceptable if one is adding honey to tea and taking the overwhelming dose of preaching because everyone understands that the key to a winning bet is to gamble with medicine. But when the world is a noisy chaotic place and many are straight up aimlessly doling out lessons, quite a lot of the time nothing is happening to anybody.

For most of the film’s duration, it is quite difficult to pinpoint a character worth getting excited about and it is only after the 70-minute mark that the character development even begins. The expectations of laughter should be set to a lower degree as the movie has plenty of unique perspectives that we have not seen before. Most of the film’s plot progression is pretty terrible and is fast-forwarded and moved along without caution. Sir, it was funny, like apologizing for praying we had to pray because otherwise, we would be too lazy to explain (but then here it was the case of praying).

From my perspective, the film is without doubt flawed but there is no need to go as far as to say the film is awful (The Forge, 2012). The only criterion is that once you enter the cinema anticipating to watch a religious-themed film and walk out with a smile that The Forge promises. There are of course those who wish to see sorely-disgruntled Christians arguing while proudly endorsing the great Kendrick brand!

As far as any one of us can tell The Forge is supposed to be less about engrossing the audience with entertainment. Simultaneously, in the case when we speak of those Christians who produce movies, there is indeed a space for the hackneyed phrase ‘Christian in movies because it retains narrative structures that pertain to one of the most important aspects of a believer’s existence. One of the Characters in the film states eloquently “People want to be saved. Some, however, do not want to do what disciples of Jesus are supposed to do.” Such amazing combination are going to be ample of these ‘films with a bible study session’ to accompany with.

Let us pray that there will be those mediums enough to persuade the youths of the gentiles to become true disciples of Christ and bear people of action.

As a final remark, the products that the Kendrick brothers are offering, should, as a minimum, serve the purpose of aiding their fellow Christians in understanding them better.

There is so much that could have been done to refine a few things with the film being good but sadly, so seems the thing with right intention. The large majority of persons who view this film, like Luke Skywalker in the cave of Dagobah, will surely walk out with the same mindset as when they walked in. The feel good picture that this is seeks you out If like you expect every child of God centered Christian r ‘Form a Fisherman’s Daughter. In seeking art within movies, this particular film is sadly lacking so many people. To those who still believe in the Kendrick brothers and their ‘preaching to the converted’ there alas, it coordinates too well with the Forge is what could have been a ‘other missed opportunity.’ This is not how Christianity should be practiced and whether you are Christian or not, film has so much more to offer than being a tool to go and ‘learn’ the bible These are.

Discipleship:

It is time for me to warn you that this film contains disturbing images and content because of which some viewers will get offended, but still, it is words that speak more than pictures. Understandably, there are themes that recur throughout the film, however, this is not the medium to elaborate and seek to answer the so-called ‘what was learned’ from the film.

In the movie, which can be categorized as scenarios, different biblical themes are explored such as forgiveness, prayer, effects in one way or the other to people’s lives, salvation, personal accountability, giving the gospel, and the most pertinent theme in the movie discipleship. The purpose of the Christian mission film is to demonstrate the idea of Christian discipleship in the context of a generation where people are always made to be disciples and taught to make more disciples.

Dryzek, one of the speakers voiced that Christianity made it difficult for him to play golf, then yes, ‘something’ comes with the discipleship.

KvK academic aims:  “We make a broad appeal, both critically and didactically. A wide spectrum of audiences will find this film fascinating, or at the very least the message portrayed in it.” In this case, the pov is Juniper, albeit bur psychologically he is a role model for people outside this demographic. Juniper goes in depth explaining that he does not particularly enjoy playing video games and wishing they instead picked up a good book.

He is the younger man he is trying to teach, He’s selected out of a group where having fun with their friends was the focus. The Jesus movie depicts a scene where a group of brave friends formed to lessen the burdens of leaders coming into this place. the leaders are multi-generational men multi-generational men who also help lessen these struggles, hopefully, they help facilitate it. This is a commendable objective however, there is something that is slightly annoying. Respectfully to the Boomer generation, and some may see this as offensive, The manner in which the filmmakers address the younger generation always makes me feel like I am watching some kind of a ‘Boomer’s Fantasy’. In the current era, almost all movies portray these stubborn children as lazy sedentary testosterone deficient kids who don’t have any brain cells but remain unproductively engrossed in video games. Unfortunately, maturity and concentration are not acquired in a day, and this type of film isn’t a protagonist-centered one either. Its target feature is these young adults in society instead of about them.

In the movie, the single-minded aim of the protagonist’s evolution is to become a ‘good boomer’. This means that he is a workaholic who has no time for friends or hobbies as a result of work, church activities, and so on.

During the time of this movie, he is an individual who matures. But in the process of maturing, he loses his understanding of who he is. This readjustment may seem honorable, in that it tries to atone for the sin, but it does not conform to the notions of individuality as one would wish to have the adolescents embraced in their diversity and intricacies. Reminds me of this great-grandmother who came along with a youth group that I worked in, she was not there because she loved young people but because she wanted to “change” them.

Masculinity

The Forge model of masculinity, being biblical, must be placed within the wider scope of cultural effort, which aims to modify, shrink or even demonize what it means to be a man.

It doesn’t come at the cost of women or glorifying the alpha as it also extends some ‘tough love’ to men and advises them that they also need to handle their lives, which is said by stating ‘Work is part of the man’. It seems Elizabeth Town will sorely frustrate several young members of the audience if they feel that the aims of younger Jake will do so at all, but it offers them some good points about for example where to shake hands, where to look, and how to get somewhere on time.
