There is a vast amount of literature about it and in the film, in this instance, nobody even knows who Nabokov is. In any case, these `intellectuals` around would have ought to have known better than to allow themselves to slip into a cliche.

Halley Bartlett, the writer, is the director and producer of this feature film which is her first, and as expected Ortega herself has some dreamlike plots as she narrates too much a star over herself while introducing the film. `I am not going to be as funny as I would want myself to be while giving kids variety in narration because I am 18 and an incredibly boring person what is left of me relates is: My name is Cairo Sweet and that’s all.

Ortega explains this character, “I’m alone, and the only source of consolation for me is literature, people such as my affluent family and shallow twats are abominable”. The parents are linked with one or two law firms and it is mentioned that they are constantly traveling on holiday, so Cairo is only intermittently present in the family house in Tennessee when they are partying or chain smoking.

Everyone else who is ever displayed on the screen is a product of the mind in the same way her con artist best friend Winnie is always wandering and devising a plan of genius in her thin skirts and big woolen socks.

So, whether she is merely so bored or in need of a muse, this is where she complicates herself, by asking Jonathan Miller (Martin Freeman) her creative writing lecturer who is also busy though less than her, to come in. We all understand that this leads to Young teaching a popular subject, and he excites school girls’ fantasies and knows that he always will like every man.

Nonetheless, the role of Dagmara Dominczyk’s father is supported by the character of middle-aged Miller. Dagmara Dominczyk mentions that a man ceases to be a writer and starts to practice as a teacher with his wife Beatrice, but his wife Beatrice keeps asking him why he does so, which makes him address her. Even in her grogginess, Dagmara Dominczyk still manages to impress because she wears just the right amount of silk nighties and is just the right amount tipsy, so, she makes quite the impression here rather smoothly.

That doesn’t mean she has and her blessings of thrombotic farnascultastic eloquent speaker’s words are soft and warm within her. The date is compelling that forced centrifugal outwards which should not be there in the relations of Jonathan and her but there it is. They both their conversations or even ask the other last semester insinuate that the other this semester lecture students will come and coffee may somehow help before they reach there. But that is the end of collaboration sharp and succinct California funny making Miller’s work kjerner in Girl with the Lesion of 2000, Heathers and Thoroughbreds becomes mediocre. This occurs even more so when Jonathan conducts a midterm exam where Cairo needs to write a very short essay on her favorite author whom she always loved to antagonize him with, Henry Miller.

The combination of her writing an article as he reads it in the indoor study, with both of them taking turns discussing her erotic, young adult novel is ridiculously funny from an editorial point of view but quite absurd from the perspective of the narrative for the reason that she does it all unwittingly.

With all sorts of fault lines, Ortega is animated enough to keep them engrossed even whilst her character’s actions followed by justifications seem on the hair of the dog and so obvious. Josee is quite a Thursday Addams with an amalgamation of childishness and aging traits, a deep desire of sociopathy but an even deeper urge of wanting the entire universe around her to combust has also a lot of Thursday Addams in it. Freeman however is much more well-developed in his focus on khakis and cardigans but they start showing that there is not so much to the character. And regardless, the manner in which Cairo beats up the poor fellow goes on for a long time. And she is right. Regarding the issue of Cairo referring to Jonathan as ‘the crab imitation that is caught inside the crab sushi at the gas station’, there are many such surprises in Bartlett’s scenario. Such notions may be quite interesting.

‘Miller’s Girl’ indeed becomes a great addition to the list of riddles because they are promising methods of focusing that do their best to facilitate understanding.

Make no mistake, there are a few intriguing elements scattered here and there, and this book definitely shows a tremendous amount of effort but overall, it is lacking in overall cohesion. Let’s start with the two lead characters, not the most convincing in their portrayal. But Bashir Sulahuddin is outstanding as the overzealous supporter of Jonathan and the beautiful lovely coach in their school to which others go to amplify this otherwise dull workout with some shouts and cheers.

Some claim that this book could have qualified as a decent sort of trash, as my mother used to grumble about the books of Sidney Sheldon but that level does not come even close to being attained with this book.
